“Blossom Square Element 1” is the moodiest piece in the series — dark greys, dusky pink, and subtle chocolate tones rendered through a layered photographic lens to create a luminous, three-dimensional depth that draws the eye inward. There is a quiet intensity to this work; it holds its ground in any room it inhabits.
Part of the broader Blossom Square series, Elements 1–7 thread balanced imagery of Japanese blossoms together through distinct perimeter edging — an inversion of the traditionally soft blossom form, given a western colour treatment. The result is a merging of masculine and feminine that holds its own as a singular piece, yet deepens considerably within the full series.
The palette — deep grey, dusky pink, and warm chocolate shadow — sits beautifully in refined interiors, bringing botanical depth without literal reference to nature.
A natural companion to Blossom Square Element 2, Element 3 & Element 4, which share the same considered edge treatment and tonal restraint.
A rich, painterly surface that draws out the tonal depth and luminosity of the work. The canvas presentation brings warmth and texture, sitting naturally within both contemporary and botanically-influenced interiors.
