Forged on an advanced aluminium substrate, “Bendigo Pastel Dreams” draws from the upper reaches of View Street — where the glowing façade of the Sacred Heart Cathedral, the iconic Fire Station, and the layered heritage of Bendigo’s architectural history converge in a dreamlike composition. Natural elements weave fluidly through the built forms, softening the boundaries between structure and landscape. Moving gracefully between clarity and atmosphere, familiar landmarks emerge and recede through shifting planes of light and colour, establishing an expansive sense of depth held together by a palette that feels both considered and quietly alive. The dye-sublimation process fuses pigment directly into the metal panel, giving the soft pastel blush and sage registers a glass-like depth that appears almost backlit from within.
The work explores the dynamic tension between historic heritage structures and dreamlike spatial abstraction.
